Q2 What is your upgrade policy, and how can I get an update?
For each screensaver, minor updates to the same version are free for registered users (eg v2.1 to v2.2). There may be an upgrade fee when there is a major upgrade (eg v2.2 to v3.0). Minor updates are made available from time to time on this web site. You can compare the version in the table above to that shown on your screensavers' Settings screens. Licensed users may gain access to updates by sending an email to updates@seraline.com. The subject must be just the name of the screensaver, namely Dynamania, 3aline, Seractal, Adrift, Seraline, Serandom or Photo Mishmash. The email message must be blank - just put the product name in the subject. Information on how to update will be sent back as soon as possible. The trial versions may not be used to update licensed versions, and registration codes are not used. You should make a backup copy of your licensed version on CD at the time of purchase, and also when receiving any updates. |

Q4 What is a screensaver, and what is special about yours?
Screensavers were originally used to prevent phosphor burn-in on your screen when the image did not change for a long time. This is not such a problem with modern screens, and screensavers are now mainly used for entertainment when you are not otherwise using your computer, and for password protection. Many screensavers use animated cartoons, or a limited range of still images, but the problem with these is that within a short time you have basically seen all they can do. Seraline Screensavers avoid this kind of repetition by taking a different approach. Using mathematics, fractals, 3D and random drawing effects, the various Seraline screensavers create an endless variety of images. It's like having your own works of computer art, continually evolving before your eyes. |

Q7 How do I save an image?
Press the Print Screen key while the screensaver is running. This will Copy the image into your clipboard, and you can then Paste it into a paint program for saving or printing. The image, or part of it, could then be used as a backround for your screen's desktop or a web page. Under NT/2000, you may need to run the screensaver from a shortcut on your desktop, as pressing a key will stop the Screensaver. For Adrift, Seraline and Seractal, you may also need to turn off Animation on their Settings screen. Also, for Photo Mishmash & Seractal Screensavers, see its Settings screen on how to automatically save each image. |

Q10 How can I pay without using a credit card?
RegNow can accept checks or money orders. Use the RegNow online store from the Buy Now buttons on seraline.com, and select the Check/Money Order Payment Method. Once you click "Place Your Order", payment instructions will be presented to you on your monitor. With this option you will need to send a check or money order to the address listed on the final page. Your registration will not be complete until funds have been received. |

Q11 I've completed the on-line purchase of a screensaver, but I'm still getting Trial Version messages.
When ordering a licensed copy on-line, you have the opportunity to download a version that does not require show Trial Version messages. You should have received an email confirmation which contains a download link. You can download the licensed version for a limited time after your order using that link. Also, a few days after purchase, licensed users in our customer database can gain access to download the latest version by sending an email to updates@seraline.com. The subject must be just the name of the screensaver, namely Dynamania, 3aline, Seractal, Adrift, Seraline, Serandom or Photo Mishmash. The email message must be blank - just put the product name in the subject. Information on how to download will be sent back as soon as possible. After downloading, double-click on the newly downloaded file to install the screensaver. Don't forget to make a backup copy to CD of your downloaded licensed file after re-downloading and installing. |

Q13 I have a question on the status of my order, or I need to re-download a licensed copy.
If you ordered on-line, you need to contact customer support for the on-line store you purchased through. The links below lead to the Customer Support web sites, on which you will also find email and phone contact details. Be sure to use the on-line store that you originally purchased from, as they are independent. If you purchased through RegNow, click www.regnow.com. Q15 When installing Serandom, I get an error message.
The message can be something like "an error occured while copying c:\Windows\System\Serandom2.scr". This can happen if you are installing a new version of Serandom (including a licensed version) while you still have a previous version running in your system tray. You need to right-click on the running copy of Serandom in the system tray, and select Exit Serandom. You will then be able to install the new version of Serandom, and then use its Settings screen to specify that it should run in the system tray. |

Q16 How do I uninstall the screensaver from my computer?
Use your Display Properties to select another screensaver. Then you can click Start, then Control Panel, Add/Remove programs, and the screensaver should be in the list of programs you can uninstall. If you still find the screensaver in your list of screensavers, use Windows Explorer to go to your Windows\System folder (or WinNT\System32). Locate the screensaver and delete it. If you are trying to uninstall Serandom, first ensure that it is not running. Right-click on its icon in the system tray, and select Exit Serandom. |

Q17 Why does the screen go blank after a while?
You may have Energy Saving turned on on your computer, which will turn the screen black, and will happen no matter what screensaver you are running. Check at the bottom of the Screen Saver tab on your Display Properties. If it just happens with a Seraline screensaver, check at the bottom of the screensaver's own first settings screen that you have not selected it to stop after a specified period. |

Q18 How do I stop the screensaver displaying an error message when resuming from Energy Save mode?
Some users have reported an error message on resuming from Energy Saving mode. You must ensure that the screensaver stops running before the energy saving mode starts. On the screensaver's first Settings screen, at the bottom, is a checkbox labelled "Blank Screen after specified time". Select this, and set the time to be 5 minutes less than your screensaver delay time and energy saving delay time. eg if your screensaver comes on after 10 minutes, and the energy saving at 30 minutes, set the delay in the screensaver's settings screen to 15 minutes. (30 less 10 less 5). |

Q19 I have a problem running 3aline or Dynamania.
3aline & Dynamania run well on most computers using Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP. If you are getting an error message when running them, there may be an incompatibility with your 3d graphics card or drivers. Try updating your graphics card drivers to the latest version. |

Q20 I have a problem running Adrift.
If using Windows XP and you have turned on "On resume, display Welcome screen" on your screensaver settings, turn it off. This may also help if you use color animation with Seractal or Seraline Screensavers. |

Q21 Can I run the screensaver at home as well as at work?
Yes. The fee licenses you to use the screensaver you purchased on all your home computers, and on one machine at work on which you are the primary user. The full license is provided in the screensaver's documentation. |

The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for this website: http://www.seraline.com.
