How to download and install

Serandom Screensaver Manager

Thank you for downloading Serandom. Serandom is a screensaver manager, or randomizer, which allows you to organize your screensavers into different collections.

Serandom is safe and easy to install, and easy to use. Just follow these steps:

  1. Download and Save Serandom to your computer.
  2. Install Serandom.
  3. Select Serandom as your active screensaver.
  4. Start watching Serandom.

Step one - download and save

First point your browser to www.seraline.com/serandom.htm.
Click on download link on the left menu, saying Download.

You may be asked if you want to save the file or run it from its current location. If you are asked this question, select "Save." If not, don't worry -- some browsers will automatically choose "Save" for you.

(Note: The exact wording of the download screens will vary depending on your version of Windows and browser.)

You will then be asked to select the folder where you want to save the program or file, using a standard "Save As" dialog box. Note & remember which folder you select before clicking the "Save" button. You can save this file to your desktop to make it easy to find it after the download is completed. It may help you to create a folder like "C:\Downloads" for all of your downloads, but you can use any folder you'd like.

If you get a "Security Warning - Unknown Publisher" message, you may safely ignore this as Seraline is the publisher, and you are downloading directly from the Seraline site. The software contains no spyware, adware or viruses.

The download will now begin. Your web browser will keep you updated on the progress of the download by showing a progress bar that fills up as you download. The file will be saved as "C:\Downloads\SerandomTrial .exe" in the picture below

Note: You may also see a check box labeled "Close this dialog box when download completes." If you see this check box, it helps to uncheck this box. You don't have to, but if you do, it will be easier to find the file after you download it.

Step two - install Serandom

Depending on how fast your connection is, it may take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes to download. When your download is finished, if you left that "Close this dialog box when download completes" option unchecked, you'll see a dialog box like this one:

Now click the "Open" button to run the file you just downloaded. At this point the installation program for the file will launch, so just follow the on-screen instructions from there to install the screensaver on your computer. If you don't see the "Download complete" dialog box, just open the folder where you saved the file and double-click on the icon for the file there.

Step three - select Serandom as your active screensaver

At the end of the installation, Control Panel is launched for you to select Serandom as your active screensaver:

  • Click on the Screensaver tab.
  • In the Screen Saver list, select Serandom2.
  • Click Preview to run the screensaver.
  • Press Settings to access configuration options.

Step four - select the screensavers you want to run

On pressing Settings, you screensavers are displayed in the left-hand Available list. Select those you want to run, and click the > button to transfer them to the Selected list. Serandom settings

Step five - start watching Serandom

Serandom will automatically start running after your computer has been idle for a while, based on the number of minutes you selected on the Control Panel screensaver tab. Serandom will automatically stop & start your selected screensavers, based on the frequencies or sequence you have set in Serandom's Settings screen. You can quickly access these settings by right-clicking Serandom's icon in your system tray.
