  Q2 What is your upgrade policy?

Minor updates to the same version are free for registered users (eg v1.1 to v1.3). There may be an upgrade fee when there is a major upgrade (eg v2.2 to v3.0).

Minor updates are made available from time to time on this web site. You can compare the version above to that shown on Redecorator's Settings screen. To receive an update, licensed users should send a blank message to updates@seraline.com, with subject Redecorator.

No, only Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP.

Q4 Is Redecorator available on diskette or CD?

No, it is only distributed on-line.

Q5 How do I save a fractal?

If you wish to save a copy of the last fractal created, it is stored as a bitmap called Redecorator.bmp in your Windows folder. It is overwritten by each new image or fractal, so make a copy into a new folder before the next change is due.

Q6 How can I purchase Redecorator?

You can order securely on-line using a credit card, after which you are immediately emailed a web address from which you can download a licensed full version. Click here for the order page.

Q7 I prefer not to order on-line. How else can I pay?

If you do not like to give your credit card details over the Internet, SWREG can handle that - they have a unique system whereby you start to process your order online but instead of entering your credit card number, you enter your country and phone number. On clicking the "Proceed" button, their calling machine will telephone you within seconds to collect the credit card number and your order will then be processed. Click here for the order page .

Q8 How can I pay without using a credit card?

You can pay SWREG by check. Start your order on-line, and instead of entering your credit card details, choose the option to pay by check. You will then receive further instructions. Click here for the order page .

Q9 I've completed the on-line purchase of Redecorator, but I'm still getting Trial Version messages.

If you purchased through Digital River, you can use your customer number, order number and password to re-download the licensed version of the screensaver from the on-line Customer Service screen. To get to that screen, click DR Customer Service.

A few days after purchase, licensed users in our customer database may gain access to download the latest version by sending an email to  updates@seraline.com. The subject must be just "Redecorator". The email message must be blank. Information on how to download will be sent back as soon as possible.

After downloading, double-click on the newly downloaded file to install Redecorator.  Don't forget to make a backup copy to diskette or zip disk of your downloaded licensed file after re-downloading and installing.

Q10 I need to re-install Redecorator, but I've lost my licensed copy.

Send a blank message to updates@seraline.com, with subject Redecorator. Information on how to download will be sent back as soon as possible.

Q11 When installing Redecorator, I get an error message "while copying".

The message can be something like "an error occured while copying c:\Program Files\Redecorator\Redecorator.exe".

This can happen if you are installing a new version of Redecorator (including a licensed version) while you still have a previous version running in your system tray.

You need to right-click on the running copy of Redecorator in the system tray, and select Exit Redecorator. You will then be able to install the new version.

Q12 How do I uninstall Redecorator from my computer?

First ensure that Redecorator is not running. Right-click on its icon in the system tray, and select Exit Redecorator. Then click Start, then Control Panel, Add/Remove programs, and Recedorator should be in the list of programs you can uninstall.

If this happens to not work, use Windows Explorer to delete the folder c:\Program Files\Redecorator, and also the shortcut C:\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp\Redecorator.

To select a new background, right-click on the background & select Properties from the popup menu, and change the selected Background.

Q13 Can I run Redecorator at home as well as at work?

Yes. The fee licenses you to use Redecorator on all your home computers, and on one machine at work on which you are the primary user. The full license is provided in Redecorator's documentation.
